Night Club Two Step (NC2S)
Instructors: Fred Fagan & Nancy Smith
Ages 16+. Night Club Two Step is a partner dance developed by Buddy Schimmer in the mid-1960s. The dance has gained significant popularity in recent years. NC2S is generally danced to mid-tempo ballads in 4/4 time that have a quick-quick-slow beat. A popular song for NC2S dancing is “The Lady in Red” by Chris De Burgh. A distinguishing feature of Night Club Two Step is the Side-Cross-Side movement. Buddy created this movement by modifying a pattern from the 1960s era “Surfer Stomp,” which featured a side-together-side movement. We will learn the following patterns in this NC2S class: 1-Basic, 2-Basic with Side-Cross-Side, 3-Flip-Flops, 4-Lady’s Underarm Turn, and several more fun patterns. This class is for newcomers to Night Club Two Step.
